Owner, Lance Ballard, founded his business in 1976, and specializes in the construction of houses and barns built in the classic timber frame method, which utilizes mortising and tenoning and peg joinery when cutting and assembling frames. Frame components are cut from native species of lumber, and assembled into a house or barn, garage or pond house, pergolas or gazebos. These frames are durable, strong, and there is flexibility in design. The antique farmhouses and barns, many still standing strong and useful all across Vermont, are a testament to the strength and durability of classic timber framing methods.
