This new timber frame was constructed in Bristol, VT. The lumber was cut from native Hemlock on the client’s father’s land in Pomfret, VT, and milled at his father’s sawmill using Lance’s specifications.
Because of the size of the bents and the frame, it was built using 10” x 10” posts to carry the load, rather than the traditional 8” x 8” posts. Each bent weighed more than 6,500 pounds which meant a larger crane was required for construction.
